Getting to Oviedo by car is easy, but if you are heading for the city centre it is best to decide in advance where to leave your vehicle. For visits lasting several hours, a good option is to use one of the public car parks near the centre and continue on foot. For short stays there are regulated blue-zone parking spaces, while the green zone allows longer stays. This guide also includes motorhome parking in Oviedo and dedicated motorcycle parking spaces.
Important in 2026: before driving into the historic quarter or city centre, check the access conditions for the
Low Emission Zone (LEZ), especially if your vehicle does not have a Spanish environmental sticker.
Blue zone y zona verde de Oviedo
Oviedo has regulated on-street parking. The blue zone is intended for shorter stays and greater vehicle turnover, while the green zone allows longer parking periods.

Oviedo’s Low Emission Zone regulations were finally approved at the end of 2025. Since 1 January 2026, the first phase has applied to the inner ring of the city centre. The system regulates access, circulation and parking for certain vehicles.
The inner ring covers much of the historic quarter and city centre, within an area bounded by streets including Adelantado de la Florida, Postigo, Padre Suárez, Marqués de Gastañaga, Campomanes, Santa Susana, Conde de Toreno, Uría, Doctor Casal, Melquiades Álvarez, Covadonga, Manuel García Conde y Víctor Chávarri.
If your car does not have an environmental sticker: do not enter the restricted area without first checking whether the vehicle is allowed access or qualifies for an authorisation or exemption.
The City Council has a specific system for processing authorisations for residents, businesses and visitors in the cases provided for.
Visitors staying inside the LEZ
Are you staying at a hotel or other accommodation inside the LEZ?
If your vehicle has a Spanish environmental sticker B, C, ECO or 0, it may enter the Oviedo LEZ normally under the current general restrictions.
Vehicles belonging to guests staying overnight at hotels or similar establishments are included among the access exemptions. This is particularly relevant for vehicles without an environmental sticker.
If you are staying inside the LEZ, provide the accommodation with your vehicle registration number before arrival and confirm that the required access authorisation or notification has been correctly processed.
Important: an accommodation booking should not, by itself, be regarded as automatic permission to enter with a restricted vehicle. Confirm that your registration number has been recorded before entering the LEZ.
If you are staying in a tourist apartment or holiday rental property, check with the accommodation in advance whether it can arrange the relevant access authorisation.
To avoid problems, visitors arriving from outside Oviedo can use a car park outside the most restricted area or check in advance whether their chosen car park can be reached via an authorised route.

It is a particularly practical option for visiting Oviedo because it avoids the height restrictions found in many underground city-centre car parks and is suitable for larger vehicles.

Take care with city-centre car parks: a motorhome can easily exceed
the maximum height of many underground car parks in Oviedo. Before entering any car park,
check the permitted height and access dimensions.
Parking a motorhome is not the same as camping
When a motorhome is correctly parked, it must remain within the designated parking space. Do not extend equipment outside the parking space or set up tables or chairs on the public highway, and do not discharge waste except at designated facilities.

If you intend to drive your motorhome towards the city centre, check the access conditions for the Oviedo Low Emission Zone and any restrictions that may apply to your vehicle. Using the La Corredoria area and continuing by public transport avoids many of these complications.
